Yoniq Duo Dual-Screen Retro Handheld Appears With $159 Early Price

Yoniq publishes pricing and hardware photos for the Duo, a dual-screen retro handheld with dual analog sticks, stylus support, and a $159 introductory price.

Yoniq has published new product information for its upcoming Duo, giving retro-handheld enthusiasts a clearer look at the company's unusual dual-screen machine. The handheld was previously demonstrated around Gamescom, but its new listing provides pricing and additional hardware photographs. Yoniq is indicating a planned retail price of $199 in the United States, with an introductory price of $159. Equivalent launch pricing is listed at £117.99 in the United Kingdom and €137.99 in the eurozone. The Duo enters an increasingly busy market for Nintendo DS-style retro handhelds, but attempts to distinguish itself with two analogue sticks, stylus support, dual USB-C ports and a layout that looks better suited to systems requiring analogue controls. Images also confirm inline shoulder buttons and dedicated stylus storage. There is still a substantial amount Yoniq has not revealed. Processor, RAM, display specifications, operating system, emulation limits, battery capacity and an exact release date remain unknown. That means the current listing is better considered a pricing preview than a finished retail announcement, but at $159 the Duo could become a particularly interesting alternative to more expensive dual-screen Android handhelds.
