Terranigma Returns January 14 With $199 Gaia Collector's Edition

Quintet's SNES action RPG Terranigma returns on January 14, 2027 across modern consoles, featuring modern conveniences and a deluxe $199.99 Gaia Edition with a music box.

Quintet's celebrated 1995 SNES action RPG Terranigma now has a firm return date, with Clear River Games confirming that the revived edition will launch on January 14, 2027. The game is heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, finally giving a much wider modern audience straightforward access to one of the Super Nintendo's most highly regarded late-era RPGs. Physical editions are a major part of the release. Standard versions begin at $39.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series and $44.99 for Switch 2, while additional Foiled and SteelBook releases are planned. At the top sits the $199.99 Gaia Edition. Its package includes a physical game, soundtrack CD, cloth map, 200-page art book, pixel pin and SteelBook inside a magnetic collector's box. The centrepiece is a Pandora's Box-inspired mechanical music box featuring Yomi. The rerelease itself is also receiving modern convenience features including save states, rewind, a revised inventory interface, mini-map, museum material and a music player. Terranigma's return is particularly notable because the original never received a North American SNES release despite becoming a cult favourite in Europe and Japan.
