Super Bomberman Collection Goes Physical With Eight Explosive Classics in One Box

Red Art Games and Konami release physical editions of Super Bomberman Collection on PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series, featuring localized editions of Super Bomberman 4, 5, and Panic Bomber W.

Bomberman spent the 1990s proving that friendships could be destroyed by a strategically placed cartoon bomb, and Red Art Games and Konami are now putting that valuable social experiment back into boxes. Physical editions of Super Bomberman Collection have launched for PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch after the compilation's digital debut earlier this year.

The collection gathers the five main SNES Super Bomberman games, running from the 1993 original through Super Bomberman 5, adds puzzle spin-off Panic Bomber W, and then drops in the NES versions of Bomberman and Bomberman II for good measure. Particularly important for western collectors is the inclusion of Super Bomberman 4, Super Bomberman 5 and Panic Bomber W, which never received official western releases in their original era and have been localised for the collection.

Standard physical editions are available now, although the Xbox version is limited to Europe. Switch 2 owners wanting a physical Game Card have to wait until October 30. A Deluxe Edition is limited to 500 copies on PS5 and Switch and adds a slipcase and bomb-shaped stress toy, presumably useful immediately after somebody traps you between two explosions. A larger Collector's Edition adds a steelbook, poster, stickers and enamel pins and is expected to ship in October. It is a remarkably complete snapshot of Bomberman's 8-bit and 16-bit Nintendo years, with considerably fewer loose cartridges required.
