Marmalade Valley Launches on MSX1 and MSX2 as Snack Break Games Expands Its Retro Platformer Lineup

Snack Break Games and Fire Dragon Interactive launch Pip the hedgehog's platformer Marmalade Valley on MSX1 and MSX2 cartridges with 12 orchard stages.

Pip the hedgehog is heading to two more classic home computers as Snack Break Games releases new MSX1 and MSX2 editions of Marmalade Valley on November 7. Developed by Fire Dragon Interactive, the cheerful platform adventure was previously released for the Commodore 64 and now brings its orchard-themed action to the MSX family. Players guide Pip through twelve stages spanning four colourful worlds, collecting 46 plums while negotiating moving platforms, conveyors, updrafts and climbable honey pillars. Wasps, spiders and bouncing chestnuts provide additional obstacles, while Pip's ability to curl into a spiky ball and charge into a jump adds another dimension to navigating the environments. Both editions include original music and sound effects, with individual ROM versions created for MSX1 and MSX2 compatibility. Each edition is available separately for €4.99 as a digital download containing a 32 KiB cartridge ROM. Players can also try a free browser-based demonstration before purchasing, making it easy to discover Pip's adventure without immediately configuring a standalone emulator. Physical cartridges are not included, and compatibility with individual real-hardware configurations has not been independently verified. With the MSX editions now joining the existing Commodore 64 release, Marmalade Valley continues its journey across the eight-bit landscape. Pip may be small, but his appetite for plums and classic computers appears absolutely enormous.
