The modern retro-platformer scene has received another promising development with a new playable demonstration of Gravity Circuit 2. Developer Domesticated Ant Games and publisher Dear Villagers have released a fresh trailer and Steam demo for the sequel to their 2023 action-platformer. Gravity Circuit earned attention for combining precise movement, colourful pixel artwork and demanding combat inspired by classic Mega Man games. Its sequel introduces a second playable character named Cable alongside returning protagonist Kai. The two heroes approach combat differently. Kai concentrates on close-range attacks, while Cable uses longer-range weapons, giving players alternative ways to navigate the same environments. The demo contains approximately twenty to thirty minutes of gameplay across Kernel City and Artificial Lake. Players can experiment with both characters and begin exploring the sequel's expanded abilities. Circuit Shards and Booster Chips provide opportunities to improve performance, while equippable Burst Techniques introduce additional finishing attacks. The story follows the emergence of a new Hunter Army after the events of the original game. Gravity Circuit 2 is currently targeting spring 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The demonstration provides a useful opportunity to evaluate the game's controls before release, although it cannot establish the quality of the complete adventure. The original Gravity Circuit proved that traditional action-platforming still has considerable creative potential. Its sequel appears determined to demonstrate that adding another hero can be more interesting than simply adding another hundred enemies.
