G'AIM'E Shows Lower-Latency Pro and Gyro-Based Lite Light Guns at TGS

Tassei Denki showcases low-latency G'AIM'E Pro and gyroscopic G'AIM'E Lite prototype light guns for flat-panel retro shooting at Tokyo Game Show 2026.

Tassei Denki has demonstrated two experimental additions to its G'AIM'E light-gun technology at Tokyo Game Show 2026, offering different approaches to making classic shooting games usable on modern flat-panel displays. The first prototype, G'AIM'E Pro, builds on the company's existing camera-based system while targeting improved aiming accuracy and significantly lower latency. The second, called G'AIM'E Lite, abandons the camera approach and instead uses gyroscopic tracking similar in principle to pointer controls associated with Nintendo's Wii Remote. The simpler gyro solution reportedly responds quickly and exhibits little noticeable lag, although its cursor can gradually drift and therefore requires periodic manual recentering. Tassei Denki describes the Pro and Lite units as technology demonstrations rather than finished retail products, meaning the versions shown at TGS will not necessarily reach stores in their current form. At the same time, the company is restructuring packages for its existing G'AIM'E system. A Family Pack will contain two gun controllers and one base system, while an Entry or Economy Pack provides one gun and one system. Neither includes the pedal controller used for games such as Time Crisis. Continued development is encouraging for a genre particularly difficult to preserve accurately on modern televisions.
