Nihon Falcom has signed an agreement with South Korean developer and publisher Neowiz to create a new PC and console release based on The Legend of Heroes II: Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch. Known in Japan as The Legend of Heroes III: Shiroki Majo, the RPG originally launched for NEC's PC-9801 in 1994 and occupies an important position in Falcom history as the first entry in the Gagharv Trilogy. Its story follows Jurio and his childhood friend Chris as they undertake a pilgrimage across Tirasweel, gradually becoming involved in events surrounding the mysterious White Witch. The game subsequently appeared on platforms including Sega Saturn, PlayStation and Windows, while a PSP version eventually provided an English localisation. Earlier in 2026, the original PC-9801 version also joined D4 Enterprise's EGGCONSOLE catalogue on Nintendo Switch, although that release remained Japanese-only. The newly announced Neowiz agreement specifically covers development and worldwide release for PC and consoles. Falcom has not yet clarified whether the project will be a remake, remaster or another form of revival, and target console platforms have not been specified. Even so, it represents a significant return for one of the company's foundational pre-Trails RPGs.
