Evercade's new A-to-Z index attempts to answer the system's increasingly ridiculous cartridge question

Evercade Info Central unveils an exhaustive A-to-Z index documenting all 757 officially licensed games across 89 cartridges, colour-coded by Console, Arcade, and Computer formats.

Evercade has accumulated enough licensed games that remembering which title lives on which cartridge is beginning to resemble revision for a particularly cruel pub quiz. Evercade Info Central has therefore launched a new A-to-Z index today covering all 757 officially licensed games across 89 cartridges.

Every title is alphabetised and linked to the cartridge on which it appears, with colour coding separating Console, Arcade, Home Computer and Built-In releases. A quick-jump alphabet makes the page usable without scrolling through three geological eras of gaming history, while cartridge pages provide further material such as box art, manuals and complete game lists.

The number itself is perhaps the more interesting story. Evercade began as a comparatively simple proposition — modern hardware, licensed retro collections and physical cartridges — but 757 games means the format is quietly becoming a sizeable archive covering everything from established arcade publishers to home-computer software and newer games designed in old styles. Inevitably, the ecosystem now needs databases to explain the ecosystem. That is not necessarily a complaint; collectors have been creating spreadsheets for decades, usually before breakfast. The A-to-Z page simply formalises the process and makes it considerably easier to answer the familiar question: I know Evercade has this game somewhere, but which small white plastic rectangle am I supposed to buy?
