Anyone who already owns the Nintendo Switch version will be able to upgrade to the native Switch 2 edition for free when it launches on October 6, and the offer applies to both digital and physical copies. Digital owners install their existing game and download the upgrade patch. Physical owners insert the original Switch cartridge into the Switch 2, install the game and then apply the patch.
