DoReCo Party Fuels Fresh Commodore 64 Scene Releases From Quantum, Excess and Hokuto Force

DoReCo Party 2026 sparks a wave of Commodore 64 scene productions including C64City +1D, Awass +4HD, and a rapid trainer release for Ruote Fumanti by Excess and Hokuto Force.

The Commodore 64 scene has started 13 September with a fresh batch of crack, trainer and tool releases, several associated with DoReCo Party 2026. CSDb's current release list shows C64City +1D from Quantum, Awass +4HD from Excess, Ruote Fumanti +2D from Excess and Hokuto Force, and the ALBERT 3.2.1 graphics tool all carrying a 13 September release date. The first two releases are explicitly marked as DoReCo Party productions. C64City +1D credits Stormfront with trainer work, linking and documentation, Ghost with supplying the original and HOL2001 with testing and assistance. Awass +4HD comes from Excess and credits Sentinel for code, trainer work and linking, Black Beard for the original supply, Daimansion and New Design with testing, and Logiker with directory artwork. Its crack intro uses Didi's ICC 16k 4 Excess production. Ruote Fumanti +2D appeared extremely quickly after charger0277's new racing game became available, with trainer work by Black Beard and Sentinel, supply and testing by E$G and the finished scene disk released jointly through Excess and Hokuto Force. CSDb also records the alternate English description Burnin' Rubber for the title. To people outside Commodore culture, crack editions of new homebrew can seem like a strange survival from software piracy's past. The modern C64 scene is more complicated. Developers often distribute games freely or cheaply themselves, while scene groups create trained, documented, fixed or repackaged editions partly as continuation of traditions stretching directly back to the 1980s. A trainer may add unlimited lives, energy or other options useful for exploration and testing; intros and directory artwork provide group identity; documentation and fixes can turn a bare file into a more polished scene release. The speed is remarkable. Ruote Fumanti appeared just after midnight in Central Europe and already had a joint Excess and Hokuto Force edition listed later the same day. DoReCo Party itself provides exactly the kind of physical gathering around which this culture historically developed: programmers, crackers, artists and collectors meeting around real machines and releasing productions while the event is underway. In 2026, the distribution medium is the internet rather than boxes of copied floppy disks, but the organisational culture remains recognisably Commodore.
