Croc and Croc 2 Remasters Secure New Physical Editions for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch in 2027

Argonaut Games partners with PM Studios to release physical boxed editions of Croc and Croc 2 remasters for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch in spring 2027.

Argonaut Games has announced an agreement with publisher PM Studios to produce physical editions of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos and Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos. The announcement, reported on October 26, confirms that both remastered platform adventures are planned for release on PlayStation 5 discs and Nintendo Switch game cards during spring 2027. The agreement represents another step in the revival of Argonaut's famous crocodile mascot, whose original PlayStation adventure became a recognisable part of late-1990s gaming. Croc: Legend of the Gobbos introduced players to a friendly reptile exploring colourful environments while rescuing the small creatures known as Gobbos. Its sequel expanded the formula with additional worlds, characters and adventure mechanics. The modern remasters aim to make these games accessible on contemporary platforms while preserving their distinctive personalities. The new publishing arrangement is particularly noteworthy because the franchise has recently experienced difficulties with physical distribution. Customers who ordered earlier collector's editions of the first remaster faced lengthy delays, prompting Argonaut to intervene and clarify the situation. The company has now selected PM Studios to handle the forthcoming standard physical releases. The announcement confirms the planned platforms and approximate release window, but specific retail dates and complete packaging details have not yet been established. Croc 2's digital release is separately scheduled for October 29, making the new physical agreement part of a broader revival rather than an announcement of an immediate launch. Physical editions remain especially attractive to retro collectors who prefer owning tangible copies of their favourite games. Croc may have spent decades away from the spotlight, but apparently the little crocodile has finally remembered where he left his passport.
