Capcom Super Pocket bundle packs 37 classics and three Evercade cartridges into one handheld box

GameStop lists a $129.99 Capcom Super Pocket bundle packaging the IPS retro handheld with physical Evercade cartridges for Atari Arcade 2, Interplay Collection 1, and TAITO Arcade 2.

A new Capcom Super Pocket bundle has surfaced in the Evercade ecosystem, offering a fairly concentrated dose of retro gaming for anyone whose shelves have not yet surrendered completely to plastic cartridges. GameStop is taking preorders at US$129.99 for a package combining the Capcom Super Pocket handheld with three physical Evercade cartridges: Atari Arcade 2, Interplay Collection 1 and TAITO Arcade 2.

Together with the Capcom games built into the handheld, the package contains 37 classic games. Highlighted titles include Final Fight, Street Fighter II': Hyper Fighting, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Earthworm Jim, Operation Wolf, Clay Fighter, Berzerk and Battle Chess, which is an admirably chaotic dinner-party guest list. The Super Pocket uses an IPS display, has a rechargeable battery rated for roughly four hours and accepts Evercade cartridges, so the bundle is less a sealed mini-console and more an inexpensive entrance into Blaze Entertainment's broader physical retro ecosystem.

An Evercade newsletter shared by community members brought fresh attention to the package today, although there is some confusion over regional exclusivity: community material describes a GameStop arrangement while GameStop's own product metadata currently marks the product as not exclusive. The important bit is less ambiguous. Three full cartridges plus the Capcom handheld make this one of the more substantial plug-in-and-play retro bundles currently appearing at retail.
