BloodRayne Celebrates Its 25th Anniversary With New Comic Series Planned for 2027

Ziggurat Interactive announces a 25th anniversary BloodRayne comic book series written by Kevin Roditeli, launching on Kickstarter in Q1 2027 with apparel.

The BloodRayne franchise is preparing to expand beyond videogames once again, with publisher Ziggurat Interactive announcing a new comic-book series scheduled for crowdfunding during the first quarter of 2027. The project is being developed in partnership with Roditeli Productions and is intended to celebrate the supernatural action franchise's twenty-fifth anniversary. Rather than simply adapting the events of the original games, the new publication will explore additional stories from Rayne's life and expand the fictional universe established by Terminal Reality's action adventures. Writer Kevin Roditeli, whose previous credits include POSTAL and SWAT Kats comic projects, is leading the main story. Artwork will be produced by BRÄO, while additional expanded-universe stories are planned from writer Felipe Cagno. The creative team also includes established comics contributors Andy Lanning, Ant Williams, Serge LaPointe and Chris Stevens. The crowdfunding campaign will offer exclusive editions of the first issue, alternative covers and limited collector rewards. A pre-launch registration page is already available, although the actual Kickstarter campaign has not yet opened. Ziggurat also announced a separate collaboration with clothing label Night Channels, introducing a collection of BloodRayne-inspired apparel featuring imagery associated with the original games. The combination of comics, merchandise and updated videogame releases illustrates the publisher's strategy of maintaining interest in a franchise whose original releases are now more than two decades old. Importantly, the announcement concerns a comic-book continuation rather than a newly confirmed BloodRayne videogame. For longtime fans, however, the prospect of additional official stories is a welcome development. Rayne has spent twenty-four years dealing with vampires, supernatural conspiracies and extremely unpleasant family relationships. Apparently she has finally decided that a printed page might provide a slightly less dangerous place to continue the story.
