Analogue Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ Preorders Open as FPGA Console Demand Returns

Analogue opens preorders for updated FPGA consoles Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ at $219.99, adding wireless controller support, USB-C power, and cartridge hot-swapping.

Analogue has officially opened preorders for the Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+, bringing two of its most popular FPGA-based retro consoles back into production with several modern conveniences. Both systems are priced at $219.99, with the manufacturer targeting December 2026 for initial shipments. The Super Nt+ supports original Super Nintendo and Super Famicom cartridges, while the Mega Sg+ handles Sega Genesis and Mega Drive games alongside Master System software through an included adapter. Both machines reproduce their respective console hardware through programmable logic rather than relying on conventional software emulation. The updated models introduce integrated Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless-controller connectivity, USB-C power, USB-A connectivity for supported accessories and redesigned cases. They also support hot-swapping cartridges after exiting a game through the system menu, eliminating the need to power down between titles. Video output remains at 1080p rather than adopting the 4K capabilities of Analogue's newer Nintendo 64 recreation. The initial ordering window opened on October 19, and several configurations subsequently displayed out-of-stock notices. These notices should not be interpreted as confirmation that production has permanently ended, and Analogue has not provided a definitive restocking schedule. For collectors who missed the original hardware, the new versions offer another opportunity to use genuine cartridges on modern televisions without depending on ageing consoles. Existing owners may find the improvements less compelling because the underlying gaming experience remains largely unchanged. Nevertheless, the renewed availability demonstrates continuing commercial demand for premium retro hardware. Apparently the console wars of the early 1990s have reached the stage where both competitors can return simultaneously and charge exactly the same price.
