Alien Breed’s Entire Amiga-Era Nightmare Returns in a 35th Anniversary Collection
Commodore, Antstream, and Team17 release Alien Breed: 35th Anniversary Collection on PC and modern consoles, packing six classic Amiga titles with twin-stick controls and CRT filters.
Alien Breed: 35th Anniversary Collection launches today on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, bringing six games from Team17's original Amiga-era science-fiction horror series into one preservation-minded package. Commodore is publishing the collection in partnership with Antstream and Team17, with the included lineage stretching from 1991's Alien Breed through Special Edition '92, Alien Breed II: The Horror Continues, Tower Assault, Alien Breed 3D and Alien Breed 3D II: The Killing Grounds. Multiple original machine variants are represented where appropriate, including ECS, AGA and CD32 versions.
This is not merely six disk images wearing a modern menu. Twin-stick controls have been added, the 3D games receive improved performance and mouse-and-keyboard support, tactical save states soften some period-authentic cruelty, and visual options include CRT-style filters, 4:3 and widescreen presentation.
Original couch co-op survives alongside a new online Rush mode, while Horde provides a fresh survival challenge. A Vault of archival material, artwork and historical information rounds out the museum side. The Switch edition is due later in autumn.
Alien Breed was one of those Amiga series that could make a quiet bedroom feel remarkably like an abandoned spaceship. Thirty-five years later the corridors remain dark, the ammunition remains inadequate and opening a door still feels like a decision requiring legal advice.
